Yes. The CSM 1812-80 uses a universal standard size (1812). If your current membrane housing looks like a standard cylinder inside your RO cabinet, this membrane will fit perfectly.
At The Price Challenge Store, we only stock authentic CSM membranes.
You can verify authenticity by:
Scanning the QR code printed on the membrane label, or
Entering the 14-digit Serial Number on the official CSM website
(www.csmfilter.com → Check Genuine CSM)
Each membrane carries a unique identification code, ensuring you receive an original, manufacturer-approved product.
Yes. With a 98% rejection rate, if your input water is 2000 ppm, this membrane can reduce it to approximately 40–100 ppm, which is safe and sweet for drinking.
This is normal. New dry membranes are coated with a food-grade protective agent. It takes 24 to 48 hours of water contact for the membrane pores to fully hydrate and reach the 98% rejection rate. Please discard the first two full tanks before testing.
Not at all. Higher GPD membranes require more pressure. If your house pressure is below 40 PSI, or if your Booster Pump is weak, the water cannot push through the membrane layers. Also, ensure you have upgraded your Flow Restrictor to 550cc/600cc; a small restrictor will “choke” the output.
This usually means the membrane is not fully seated. If the double O-rings are not pushed deep into the internal socket of the housing, the water will simply bypass the membrane and go down the drain. Remove the membrane, lubricate the O-rings, and push firmly until it “locks” in.
These are microscopic air bubbles trapped in the dry membrane layers. It is 100% safe and will disappear once the system is fully purged of air (usually within 3–5 days).
We accept returns ONLY if the vacuum-sealed bag is unopened. Once the seal is broken, the membrane is exposed to the atmosphere and potential contaminants, making it non-resalable for hygiene reasons. Please measure your housing before opening!
With proper pre-filtration (changing sediment and carbon filters every 6 months) and the correct flow restrictor, a genuine CSM membrane typically lasts 24 to 36 months, depending on your local water hardness.
This is a Dry-Type membrane. It is easier to store, has a longer shelf life, and does not require preservative chemicals. It “activates” once it makes contact with water in your system.
Not necessarily. High TDS is often caused by a worn-out Membrane Housing. Over time, the internal plastic seat where the O-rings rest can warp or get scratched. If that seal isn’t 100% tight, “raw” tap water leaks into your pure water. Tip: Check your housing for cracks or mineral buildup before blaming the new membrane.
No. This is almost always a failure of the Auto Shut-Off (ASO) Valve or the Check Valve. When these valves fail, the system doesn’t know the tank is full, so it keeps wasting water. The membrane is a filter, not a switch; it cannot “stop” the water flow on its own.
Reverse Osmosis works on a percentage (rejection rate). A healthy CSM membrane removes 98% of contaminants. If your input is 500 PPM, your output should be around 10 PPM ($500 \times 0.02$). If you want 0 TDS, you must add a DI (Deionization) Resin filter after the membrane.
Aside from water pressure, check your Storage Tank air pressure. If the tank’s internal bladder has lost its air charge (should be 7–10 PSI when empty of water), the tank won’t “take in” the water the membrane is producing. It’s a tank issue, not a membrane defect.
Yes, but with a warning. If your water is extremely hard (high Calcium/Magnesium), the membrane will “scale” quickly. To protect your investment and reduce returns, ensure your Antiscalant pre-filter is fresh and your Flow Restrictor is clean. A partially blocked restrictor will kill a membrane in days.
No. GPD stands for Gallons Per Day. An 80 GPD membrane produces roughly 12 to 13 liters per hour under ideal conditions (60 PSI and 25°C water temp). If your water is cold or your pressure is low, the hourly flow will be less.
🛡️ THE PRICE CHALLENGE STORE: OFFICIAL RETURN POLICY & TECHNICAL DISCLAIMER
1. HYGIENE & SANITARY SEAL POLICY
In accordance with International Health & Safety Standards for Water Filtration Products:
Final Sale Condition: This RO Membrane is a Sanitary, Food-Grade Consumable. To ensure the safety of all our customers, we strictly enforce a “No Seal, No Return” policy.
The Point of No Return: Once the factory vacuum-sealed plastic packaging has been opened, punctured, or the membrane has been wetted, the item is considered “Used” and is Non-Returnable, Non-Refundable, and Non-Exchangeable.
Pre-Opening Inspection: We encourage all customers to visually inspect the product and verify the dimensions (11.75″ x 1.8″) and model (CSM RE1812-80) against their existing system prior to breaking the seal.
2. COMPATIBILITY & SYSTEM MANDATES
By purchasing this membrane, the buyer acknowledges that the performance is dependent on the following system requirements. Failure to meet these is considered User Error and not a product defect:
The 80 GPD Rule: This high-flow membrane Requires a 550cc or 600cc Flow Restrictor (FR). Using an undersized restrictor (300cc/450cc) will cause mineral scaling and permanent blockage within days.
Pressure Threshold: Minimum 40 PSI is required for operation. Ideal performance is reached at 60 PSI. Low flow due to low house pressure or a weak booster pump is not a membrane defect.
O-Ring Integrity: High TDS readings are often caused by “Bypass Leakage.” The user is responsible for ensuring the double O-rings are lubricated and seated firmly into the internal housing socket.
3. PERFORMANCE & TDS STABILIZATION DISCLAIMER
The 24-48 Hour Window: Reverse Osmosis is a chemical-physical process. New Dry Membranes require a hydration period. We will not accept “Defective” claims based on TDS readings taken within the first 48 hours of installation.
Rejection Rate: This membrane is rated for 98% Stabilized Salt Rejection. The final TDS output is mathematically linked to your input water TDS. (Example: 500 PPM Input → 10 PPM Output is a perfect result).
4. “DRY-TYPE” SHIPMENT CLARIFICATION
This product is a Certified Dry-Type Membrane. It is shipped without preservative liquid for maximum shelf life and chemical-free storage. The absence of moisture inside the bag is the manufacturer’s standard and does not indicate old or defective stock.
5. AUTHENTICITY & FRAUD PREVENTION
Unique Serial Tracking: Every membrane dispatched by The Price Challenge Store has its unique 14-digit Serial Number recorded in our system.
Return Verification: In the rare event of a legitimate warranty claim for a sealed unit, the serial number must match our records. Any attempt to return a used, counterfeit, or “swapped” membrane will be reported to the platform’s fraud department.
⚠️ TECHNICAL ADVISORY
“95% of returned membranes pass our factory stress tests.” Before you request a return, check your Auto Shut-Off Valve, Check Valve, and Flow Restrictor. If your system is wasting water or has high TDS, the membrane is likely the victim of a system failure, not the cause.
